Artist Statement
I often think about how animals live in moments of war or crisis. They have a freedom we don’t. They can cross borders, mingle. Their loyalty is... never up for grabs. Sparrows don’t have to tremble for fear of being the wrong colour, or speaking the wrong language. They are visibly free. And they don’t even know it.
