16: TV Remote Control

I haven't had many adventures since I have been mostly cooped up in my apartment for the past few weeks (unless you count the evening walk down the hall to the garbage room to throw out what's left from my supper (e.g., eggs shells).

However, when you are cooped up because you don't want to get COVID-19 one of the worst adventures you can have is when the remote for your television and cable box no longer works. I pulled out the plugs and re-booted, but still nothing. Because of the arthritis in my hands I couldn't get the battery compartment open on the remote so I went down to the security desk and the person working there (a lovely chap who is always helpful) put on some gloves and opened the compartment with ease. I had put it on the ledge of the desk, moved away, he took it, did the opening, and put it back on the ledge so I could pick it up after he moved back to his seat. I put new batteries in and success… so far!!!!

Thank goodness because I don't know how I would have gotten a new remote, at least not quickly. (I don't subscribe to streaming and my television does not connect with my laptop and I don't really like to watch shows on my laptop.) Anyway, that's what counts as an adventure in this time of COVID-19.
