10: Grandmother Hair Dye

The hardest part for me has been not seeing or touching my children and grandchildren. I sooo took it for granted before that I could see them several times a week, pick them up from school, sneak them a “goodie” when their parents weren’t looking, or just play a silly little game with them. I pride myself on being a very active, healthy, fit and energetic grandmother who works hard to maintain my health and “youthful” appearance.

So, I was FaceTiming with my 12-year-old grandson the other day and he said, “Bubby, umm, you know how you go to the hairdresser to color your hair, well, umm, how long will that last?”

And I responded, “About 5 or 6 weeks, then I'll start to have grey hair.”

He said, “I think you'll be very beautiful with grey hair.”

It still brings me to tears. COVID makes me think about what is truly important. What matters. All the things we worry about that don't really make any difference.
