Artist Statement
This piece is best enjoyed wearing headphones.
Inspired by an anonymous confession left on a voice message, the honesty of... the speaker’s voice spoke to me. I heard a rhythm and a cadence to their reflections that grew into song.
I’ve taken liberty with their words - manipulating, omitting, rearranging. The end result is purposefully raw, to echo the speaker’s candidness, as well as to mirror the adjustments we’ve all had to make in this COVID-19 world.
