Artist Statement

“Honeymoon in Morocco” embodies the colourful vibrancy of the mural paintings in the alleyways of Casablanca, Morocco. All butterflies painted are inspired by... the butterflies of Morocco, such as the Purple-Shot Copper, and the Moroccan Orange Tip, with the exception of the two North American Monarch Butterflies painted on the face. Like the story of the newlyweds in the COVID Confession, we can relate to the transformative journey of the butterfly, as we move forward in this turbulent time with endurance, rejuvenation, and hope.
