Artist Statement
I knew this was the confession I wanted to work on when I remembered the nap I had taken last week with a face full of glitter. They say your true self is... who you are when you're alone. If this is correct, there are a lot of people getting to know themselves pretty well right now.
It can be scary to have to examine our own thoughts, fears and desires so closely, especially when the outside world is in such turmoil. But being cut off from the world has also allowed us to mold our own realities, to decide what is 'normal.' We have lost a frightening amount of agency in our everyday lives, but at least we can wear our dog park jeans and fancy earrings to work.
