Artist Statement

This is a short story about a boy named Casey, and a bear. The story is followed by three poems. I call the poems bears because they deal with mixed emotions, loneliness and love just like Stephen....

The short story is a quirky, funny little episode that acts as a shell encounter.

The poems take in all of the ruminations I've had with myself over this period. They deal with purpose, love, summer heat, dog vomit, loss and lust.
