“What’s the best way to listen if by myself vs. with a group?”
If listening by yourself on your cell phone, best listened to with headphones; if in a group, put your cell or landline on speaker. Feel free to leave it off mute, so the actors can hear you reacting!
“Is it okay to laugh and react?”
Yes! Just like at the theatre, the actors love hearing your reactions, be it laughter or other vocal responses. The only time you might consider listening on mute is if you have a noisy home (e.g. a barking dog, a crying baby, or lots of background chatter, etc.)
“Do the actors know who they’re calling?”
Nope! The actors are never given your name, only your phone number.
“Is there a “helpline” if I run into trouble?”
Yep! You’ll be emailed our “helpline” phone number the day of your performance.
“What’s the best way to add a call?”
Simply call up your friend a few minutes before your scheduled phone call, then when you see the blocked number calling you, put your friend on hold, merge the calls, then say: “Converge against Corona!”
“What if I forget to call my friend ahead of time?”
No worries! Just answer by saying: “Hang on while I add a call!”, then add your friend, merge the calls, then say: “Converge against Corona!”
“Do I need to buy a second ticket if I’m adding a call?”
Nope, it’s one ticket per phone number! You choose the price or go with our “standard” or “deluxe” options, depending on what you can afford.
"Other than saying "Converge Against Corona", do I ever have to speak?"
Two of the calls invite you to be the other actor in the play! Don’t worry, we’ll take good care of you! All you have to do is listen and read. And besides, nobody on the other end of the phone will be able to see you! Get cozy and do it in your PJs.
“How will I know what to say?!”
You will be e-mailed two scripts with your lines only a few hours before your performance begins. Don’t worry, it’ll be obvious when it’s your turn to speak.
"What are these plays and who the heck is in them?"
After you complete your six variations, we will tell you who the performers were and who wrote what play. We will e-mail you a secret link with all of that fun info—as well as ways for you to tell us about your experience.
"I couldn't get a ticket! Will you run this again?"
Yes! If you're not already on our email list, please sign up so we can let you know when the next incarnation will be.
We're also creating a cycle of matinee PHONE TALES FOR KIDS! Stay tuned for dates in June.

PARENTAL GUIDANCE: Recommended for ages 16+.
SUBJECT MATTER: All of the plays explore people's very real feelings about the current COVID-19 outbreak. There is a mix of humour and lightness along with the dark. We hope that people will find the content uplifting. That said, you are welcome to hang up at any time without jeopardizing any of your upcoming phone calls.
